gradient nails, take 2

with 6 comments

hi, Pantone Color of the Year. i love you against my skin tone. and because so few people notice that my nails are actually different colours i consider this gradation a success.

some notes on the polishes:
– i dislike wearing Mint Candy Apple on its own. it’s way too opaque which makes it just annoying to apply. also way bluer than i expected—which is why i’m really looking forward to China Glaze’s Re-Fresh Mint when the Up and Away collection comes out (this week!).
Greenport and For Audrey look very different when you apply them, but slowly fade towards almost the same shade over a few days.
Green with Envy is just a dream. it’s the perfect jelly green with just enough blue to balance it out.

  2. you really need to come to asia where gradient (and non-gradient, ie. one nail randomly a different colour or alternating colour nails) are all the rage.
they’ve been on to something for a while …

  4. This looks absolutely amazing!

I agree with you about mint candy apple though – it’s way more blue than mint green. I was so excited when I saw it in the bottle, but not so much once it was on my nails.
