AA polish: summer peach.

with 5 comments

i know i said i was going to post swatches of all the AA summer polishes like, weeks ago, but between the good weather keeping me outside and a work overflow demanding i stay in… i got a little distracted. i have, however, been wearing the polishes non-stop, because the colours are a perfect match to my sunny moods of recent.

i was a little worried about this colour when it arrived, because the last time i craved an orangey shade, i ordered China Glaze’s Peachy Keen and it was just… no. it made my hands look dirty and was totally off. but this! American Apparel’s done something right with Summer Peach. despite being a very chalky pastel, the pigment in this polish just glows (same with most of the AA summer polishes!) really, it’s almost like it wants to be a neon.

a note on AA polishes overall: the bottle shape is not your friend. this isn’t an easy polish to apply (especially, if like me, most of the time you’re painting nails as you’re running out the door…) because the short bottle neck makes it nearly impossible to control the amount of lacquer on the brush. so, while the colours are stunning, make sure you’ve got a steady surface and a lot of time before reaching for AA polish.

(disclaimer: a sample of this polish was sent to me by AA! thanks!)

  4. I have found that the pastel AA colours go on with alot more difficulty than the non-pastels. They are just alot more thick and goopy for some reason…
